Dwayne Dore, an addiction recovery counselor in Redding

Dwayne Doré, CADC II, ICADC

Lead Counselor

My name is Dwayne Doré, and I am a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor II (CADC II) and an Internationally Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (ICADC). Since 1995, I have had the privilege of helping individuals and families heal from substance use disorders, restore relationships, and rediscover hope in recovery.

What makes this work deeply meaningful to me is that my passion for helping others comes from my own personal recovery journey. I have maintained sobriety for more than 41 years, and through that experience, I understand firsthand the pain, fear, isolation, and hopelessness that addiction can bring. More importantly, I know that recovery is possible. One of the greatest honors of my life is being able to share my experience, strength, and hope with those who are still struggling and help them realize they do not have to face recovery alone.

Over the years, I have learned that healing begins with connection, compassion, honesty, accountability, and creating a safe environment where people feel respected, supported, and encouraged. I strive to bring a warm, down-to-earth, and nonjudgmental approach to the people I work with. My goal is always to meet individuals where they are and help them move toward stability, purpose, and long-term recovery.

Throughout my career, I have worked extensively within abstinence-based recovery programs and have remained actively involved in 12-step communities such as Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA) for many years. At the same time, I strongly believe in the value of Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), evidence-based practices, and individualized approaches to recovery. I believe there are many pathways to healing, and I am committed to supporting people in finding the recovery process that works best for them.

Outside of my professional life, I deeply value faith, family, health, and community. I have been married to my wife for 16 years, and together we are raising two wonderful boys. I enjoy spending time outdoors, working out at the gym, building meaningful friendships, and surrounding myself with people who support a healthy, faith-centered, and recovery-oriented lifestyle.

To me, recovery is about far more than simply abstaining from substances. It is about creating a meaningful, connected, purposeful, and fulfilling life — one built on honesty, healing, growth, and hope.
