I’m Dr. Mercedes Patee, and if you or someone you love is struggling with addiction, I want you to know I truly care. I’ve been a physician for 20 years, and the last seven have been devoted to addiction medicine. I’ve seen people in the hardest moments—whether in the ER facing an overdose or in the depths of despair. But I’ve also walked alongside them as they rediscover life—rebuilding their families, finding peace, and stepping into freedom. I’m here because I believe that transformation is possible for you, too.

In the Navy, as a flight surgeon, I learned that none of us fight alone. We lean on each other. That’s the spirit I bring into our clinic. I’ve watched people reconnect with their spouses, regain custody of their children, and step back into the purpose they thought they lost. When you come here, I want you to feel the same sense of support. You don’t have to have all the answers. You just need to take one step, and we’ll walk with you.

Outside of work, I enjoy staying active and challenging myself through events like the Tinman Triathlon, Spartan races, and marathons. I love being outdoors, whether that’s gardening, walking, or swimming. I also enjoy traveling, experiencing different cultures, and trying new foods and flavors from around the world. I love music, and I enjoy learning how to cook new dishes and experiment with cuisines from different cultures.

Faith, family, and community are a very important part of my life. My family and I are actively involved in our church and small group, and we’re blessed to have a large extended family here locally. We spend a lot of time together celebrating milestones, gathering for holidays, and simply enjoying each other’s company. Life is also busy with our children participating in team sports and all the activities that make Redding such a special place to live. Between family, community involvement, and the outdoors, I’m grateful to live and serve in a community that we deeply love.
